Widow Jane 10 Year Old Bottling Note

An excellent 10 year old bourbon from the Widow Jane range. This expression is distilled in Kentucky and brought down to bottling strength in New York with water from the Widow Jane mine in Rosendale. Every bottle is drawn from a single barrel, so alongside its core flavour profile, each one will have unique elements coming through.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Buttered rye bread, cigar box, butterscotch and mince pie filling.

Palate: Earthy vanilla pod, salted caramel, dried cherry, sandalwood.

Finish: An enjoyably oiliness lingers, balanced by brown sugar.

Reviews for Widow Jane 10 Year Old
Nice, rich blended bourbon, quite pricey
This is a great dram. Rich, robust bourbon bomb given only 91 proof. Delivers great spice, tobacco, molasses, caramel, buttery vanilla, like a pecan and brown sugar pie in a bottle. However, quite pricey , so if on a budget wild turkey 101 or Rare breed delivers a fine bourbon experience for much less. But again, in terms of blending bourbon , this is a home run.

Life’s too short…
Sure, it’s expensive, but then real quality and craft rarely comes cheap, and on this occasion you are getting what you paid for - an excellent bourbon. Life’s too short to bargain hunt for fleeting pleasures

Too expensive for what it is
As usual with "New York" whiskeys, you are paying a ridiculous premium for the fact that it (kinda) comes from New York. Decent but nowhere NEAR good enough to justify the price tag.

Delicious, a Proper Bourbon
I can't speak for the taxes i'm sure other countries have to deal with, but I'm US-based and it's definitely worth it for the 10 year old whiskey while being incredibly smooth and delicious.

Good but very expensive.
I'm reviewing the 12 year old version.
For $AU 260, it is fairly steep in the whole scheme of things It is more than three times the price of 'E.C.' 12, which is only a point or two below in quality!
