Wire Works Alter Ego

From White Peak Distillery in Derbyshire comes the new Wire Works release: Alter Ego. It's been called Alter Ego because although this English single malt hangs on to the core Wire Works character of previous releases, the distillers' choice to opt for lengthier cut points and some first-fill bourbon casks means we're looking at bumped up fruit, sweet vanilla-scented pastries, and a touch more subtle peat. Delicious stuff from the English whisky makers.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Notes of lemon meringue pie, with vanilla marshmallow sweetness and biscuity grain, with some charred tropical fruits.

Palate Sweet caramel, toasted oats, some candied citrus, and very gentle peat.

Finish Peppery spice and well integrated oak.
