In 2017, WhistlePig released their fourth edition of the Boss Hog (an annual bottling that showcases some extraordinarily excellent rye whiskey), which was dubbed The Black Prince. They sourced a 14 year old rye whiskey from Indiana, USA and finished it in casks that previously held Armagnac - something that hasn't been done before! It was named after Edward of Woodstock, who was said to have enjoyed Armagnac back in the 14th century.
This expression was named Best in Show Whiskey at the 2017 San Francisco World Spirits Competition 2017 - a massive achievement!
This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!
