Well, this is pretty special - it's a Master of Malt exclusive bottling of 12 year old rye whiskey, from none other than WhistlePig! It's been finished exclusively in Oloroso sherry casks, and was released as part of the Old World series. A fabulously sherried rye weighing in at 43% ABV, with fruity and spicy notes galore.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bucketfuls of dried fruit, with sweet caramel and vanilla alongside prominent spicy notes and orange oil.
Palate
A gentle creamy undertone with more caramel and baking spices, new leather and wonderful rich sherry notes.
Finish
Warming spice and rich, dark fruits linger alongside a pinch of tobacco on a lengthy finish.
