Artis Secretum 2011 Bottling Note

From the Whisky Illuminati comes a rather secretive single malt - which shouldn't come as a surprise, considering... Well, y'know... They're called the Whisky Illuminati. Anyway, this is a 2011 vintage Speyside single malt from "Artis Secretum", which was matured in a first-fill Spanish oak sherry butt until 2018, when it was bottled at cask strength with an outturn of only 150 bottles.

These whiskies come from a single cask, but not all the whisky has been bottled. The rest of the whisky has returned to slumber in its sherry butt, to be bottled after two more years of rest. But again, that will only be a portion of the whisky, as the remaining liquid will once again enjoy further rest until finally being bottled. Get involved with the Solaria Series and track the development of flavour the whisky experiences...

Tasting Note by The Producer

Nose: Dark treacle, black cherry and sweet spice.

Palate: One of Speyside's most sought after and distinctive palates. Dark cake spice, bruised ripe red apple and mixed fruit peel with nutmeg and stem ginger.

Finish: Dry and lingering with dark chocolate covered ginger biscuits.
