The Pogues Whiskey Bottling Note

An Irish Whiskey from the band The Pogues and West Cork Distillers (not to be be confused with the American whiskey Old Pogue). The Pogues Whiskey is said to have the highest malt content of any blended Irish whiskey and it was developed by Barry Walsh and Frank McHardy. The bells will certainly be ringing out for this one!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Sweet-smelling malt with waves of toffee to follow.

Palate: Smooth and creamy, toffee, vanilla, touch of dark chocolate, with some peachy fruit.

Finish: Dark chocolate, fudge, vanilla.

If it comes in a gift pack with a cap, buy it the cap is excellent
Not the worst Irish whiskey, I don't agree with the tasting notes at all.

It’s a zero rating whiskey....sorry
In all honesty this is by far the worst Whiskey 🥃 I have ever tasted. It leaves an aftertaste that I can’t begin to describe. I thought it was off , so bad it was. Sorry .

Great dram ,as is the single malt
A great blended flavour very sweet and typically Irish almost poitin like in flavour, with farm earthy notes and a hint of vanilla. A drink for Christmas Day ,and Shane MacGowans birthday !; two for the price of one !. - Joxer Catterall.

I would like to think that I could drink it on occasion and be content with it
It's a whiskey, not a lot to write home about, but is what it is and it has taste, pleasant and palatable - there are worse whiskeys on the market, it is a novelty drink like the 70's when people brought back miniatures feim Spain

Very enjoyable
Reminds me of Red Breasts but with a sweeter palate and stronger toffee hints.

Smooth & Complex
Very drinkable, with a smooth finish and aftertaste. Surprisingly complex. I'm looking forward to trying tasting more whiskey from West Cork.
