Spice King Highland Islay Bottling Note

A limited release from Wemyss Malts, this edition of Spice King includes a combination of 12 year old Highland and Islay malt whiskies. With plenty of spice, sweet citrus, and floral smoke, these two regional styles are combined rather nicely!

Spice King 12 Year Old Highland and Islay (Wemyss Malts) Reviews

An excellent blend of malts

This really is an excellent malt blend and the 52% really ensures the flavour comes through. If you like the Highlands and Islay whiskey then you will love this. There is no high phenolic peat in there but there is a touch of salinity. My understanding is Bunnahabhain and Highland Park are in there and the flavour profile certainly picks out the best of these two. Will definitely replace when empty if it is still around.

Warming

Certainly gives a kick and leaves one truly warmed. Not a lover of smoky but this is very subtle and rather nice
