Kiln Embers (Wemyss Malts)

Kiln Embers Bottling Note

This ought to tickle the fancy of peated whisky lovers - Kiln Embers, a new blended malt Scotch whisky from Wemyss Malts. They say it features double the amount of smoky Islay whisky than Peat Chimney, another excellent expression of theirs. It's a limited edition release of 12,000 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Opens with citrus and smoke - a little bit meaty, too.

Palate: As you would expect from a name like 'Kiln Embers', there's plenty of warming, spicy ember notes coming through. Malty.

Finish: Sweet peat lasts and lasts.

Reviews for Kiln Embers (Wemyss Malts)
Tooo much peat moss and too much Turpentine smell
Purchased a bottle
Opened it
Poured a glass over ice
Overpowering Aroma which smelled of Turpentine
The taste? Turpentine soaked Peat Moss
I’ll pass on this bottle to the first friend who is remotely pleased with it

Sweet Peaty after taste, pretty long lasting one!!.although 46% ABV, best enjoyed neat.
Less Chlorine, so I'm guessing little to do with Laphroaig. I would say similar to Finlaggan Old Reserve with hint of Bowmore 12 honey sweetness. Pretty price friendly though, considering non-chill filtered!!
