Finlaggan The Original Peaty

Finlaggan Original Peaty Bottling Note

Single malt Scotch whisky from an undisclosed distillery on the Isle of Islay, presented for the Finlaggan range. Good core of peaty malt at the heart of this one - a handsome value-for-money dram.

Finlaggan The Original Peaty Reviews

Highly recommended
This is all the peat fans need. Not the most complex Islay whisky for sure, but also far far away from 1 star review below. It feels maybe a little bit watered down due to the 40% ABV, but nonetheless it is a very nice and solid one.
It is for the whisky DRINKER and not for the whisky SNOBS.
Cheers!!!

Very good Islay whisky
This is by far the best Islay whisky you can buy at this price range. I prefer this than the Old Reserve.

Quality of Islay and good price
I tested a sample.
Very nice for the nose, typically Islay (Caol Ila ?) smoky and fruty, quite intense.
palate more smooth, lemony peat and oak.
Finish small spice, not so long, not so smoke and peat such as Islay stars.
High quality for the price.

Peat at the right price
A lovely dram, very similar to Lagavulin but much younger.
Nose: Good and smoky noses from Islay. Concentrated, and redolent of iodine.

Palate: Very thick and rich. A massive mouthful of malt and powerful peat and oak.

Finish: Long, spicy finish, peat smoke, vanilla.
