VAT 69
Blended Scotch Whisky
Customer Rating
“If you want a grainy, yet a citrusy classic blend, this is for you. Mildly peaty and lemony with smell, including a minor amount of campfire, seasalt and bitter almonds. The taste is fresh and powerfully juicy. Lots of lemon and walnuts. Minor dry aftertaste salty almonds come at it albeit the profile is minor. Very quick finish but not a bad one. Pure, almost. Leaves you craving another sip after it has dried your mouth. Absolutely a classic of its own and a great banger in cocktails, such as Rob Roy, or in my case a classic Boulevardier. I personally however love to drink this neat, but if you want to do it on the rocks, that's fine. I'd however add some lemon peel to ensure the taste goes to the max. Vat 69 is a cheap, yet easily approachable blended whisky with a reasonable reputation which has not tainted the spirit itself. Do not expect anything complex, but do not let it deter you to give yourself a courageous try with this emerald-glassed classic. It is ready for you; are you for it?”
