    Tullibardine 15 Year Old

The Tullibardine 15 Year Old has arrived! The Highland distillery reopened in 2003, and this is one of the most well-aged releases to date. Seeing as it was matured entirely in first-fill bourbon casks, there's lots of creamy, honeyed influence to be found in this one.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Barley sugar and delicate florals, with apple crumble and custard.

    Palate

Lots of honeyed malt, with creamy porridge and berry jam along with fresh sponge cake.

    Finish

Caramelised nuts, spicy oak and mango curd.

    Fine tasting whisky

I'm not great on describing the flavours but with a few drops off water in from a pappette this is a lovely tasting whisky..

    Delightful.!

Color is light golden, amber, has a beautiful nose that gives up a clear warm cinnamon, as well as stewed fruit, oats, grass/hay, and vanilla. The mouthfeel is smooth and the palate shows the cinnamon, stewed fruits, spices and a light vanilla sponge cake. The finish is medium in length, has a little dry hit from the oak tannins, and hints of spice and a slight nutty poke. Very delightful.

    Pleasantly surprised!

Really surprised by how good this one is! It’s really delicate on the palette but the subtle crumble taste along with a nutty oat finish was just delicious. Perfect summer dram.

    Starts well but falters later

The nose is the best part. Gives you anticipation for an apple crumble experience. That gives way to the flavour of angel cake and stewed fruits on the palate, and the finish is dominated by a hot spiciness. It coats the palate well but lacks viscosity and mouthfeel. For me the taste disappoints vs the nose, but it's still an interesting dram to try.
