Tullibardine 11yo 2007

This single malt from the Tullibardine Distillery began its life in June 2007, before spending the next 11 years in a pair of bourbon barrels. After over a decade had passed and March 2019 came around, the Highlander was bottled at 46% ABV for Signatory's Un-Chillfiltered Collection.

Nose Toasted granola with a touch of vanilla pod, orange chocolate and rich maple syrup.

Reviews for Tullibardine 11 Year Old 2007 (casks 800109 & 800110) - Un-Chillfiltered Collection (Signatory)
It you like lemons.....
Don't like Tullibardine generally (too much putty/linseed oil nastiness) but I have a lot of respect for Signatory, so I thought I'd take a punt on this little fellow. One of the better Tullibardine's I've tasted since the palatable 10 year old from the early 90s (this is miles better, too). Clean, flinty, gravelly on the nose - matches the taste with added lemon zest. Lemony/herbal finish. No added colour, no chill filter, no postage charge = no brainer. All the distilleries make decent stuff (even Tobermory), but whether they want to sell it to us without processing/ tampering with it is a different thing altogether. This is a nice example of what Tullibardine can produce. Nice one, Mr Symington.
