Tormore Blueprint 10 Year Old Toasted Barrel
Tormore distillery was taken over by Elixir Distillers in 2022, beginning production under the watchful eye of distillery manager Polly Logan in 2023. While we await the distillery's future releases, the Blueprint series offers us an exploration into the wood profiles that will form the foundation of the next generation of Tormore whiskies. This single malt spent 10 years maturing in toasted barrels for a profile packed with oak char, burnt caramel, dried herbs, and peppery spice.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Bold spice joins apples, honey, and creamy vanilla. Pepper and dried herbs, buttered toast, earthy nuts.
Palate
Fresh oak brings bold waves of mint and pepper, leading to zesty lemon peels and crisp green apple. Spiced walnut loaf and burnt toffee develop beneath.
Finish
Warming woody spice, fragrant hints of leather, cacao.
