Tomatin
Scotland
Single Malt
The Tomatin 14 Year Old was introduced to the core range in 2014. It features Highland single malt matured in bourbon barrels as well as specially selected Port casks, imparting wine-like sweetness to the whisky.
Quite a powerful nose. Big bunches of red berries and grapes. Vanilla, oak and hints of white pepper.
Dark chocolate dipped in strawberries. Crushed almonds, walnuts, Victoria sponge (with plenty of the prerequisite jam and cream in the middle) and a centre of oak.
Fruity on the finish.
A neat addition to Tomatin's collection.
Agree with the tasting notes of MoM. Finish is very Sweet and port-like. Can see why this mingles well with Japanese taste.
Non chill filtered, natural color, 46% abv... awesome. I was a big fan of Glenmorangie Quinta Ruban and very eager to try other port cask aged whisky and this is honestly much better this is honestly even better than a lot of sherried stuff I have tried over the years. Has a beautiful color to it very unique almost pink actually, smells like so much berries, with raisins and plums, tastes of chocolate dipped strawberries as well as the above mentioned fruits with some vanilla and marzipan this is just downright sexy! And to think it took me up until about a year ago to try the 12 year (which is also excellent) just because the name was too close to tomato ,haha what a fool I was. This is absolutely delicious one of the tastiest drams I have had in a while buy it if you can. Cheers! The Sugarbear
Iv been a big fan of single malt all my life. And I must say, That in my opinion, This Roma ton 14 yo, Simply blows away the mass majority of its competitors
Sampled this in the advent calendar, day 12 and my favourite so far. Light sweetness and very easy to drink.
nice, rich layers of flavor with fruit, spice, and a little nutty. I'm a fan of port and this is one of the better, more complex port wood-finish drams
