Tomatin's Cù Bòcan Creation series shows off the distillery's smoky single malt in all sorts of interesting casks. Take the fourth release in the range, for example. This expression has been aged in a combo of Tawny Port and Cognac casks, taking inspiration from the Antrim Cocktail. Not a regularly seen combination of casks, but a most intriguing creation, wouldn't you agree?
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Plum wine and greengages, with a dusting of toasted cinnamon and nutmeg.
Palate
Chocolatey, with touches of poached pear and black pepper building.
Finish
A long finish, with vanilla, ginger, nectarine, and delicate yet spicy smoke.
