A very intriguing bottling here from Chapter 7, this whisky was distilled at Isle of Mull's Tobermory. While Ledaig is the name for the distillery's peated spirit, this was actually distilled unpeated, but was then filled into a bourbon hogshead which previously held heavily peated Ledaig! It was filled into the cask in September 1995, and rested for 24 long years. Eventually the gently smoky whisky was bottled at cask strength, with an outturn of 242 bottles at 51.6% ABV. Fun stuff!
Gentle smoke underpins notes or orchard fruit, strawberry jam and a drizzle of honey, balanced by resinous herbal notes and wet pebble.
Spiced fruit and apple skin, with more earthy notes and smoke alongside lemon curd and toffee.
Salted caramel lingers with roasted coffee bean and peach.
