This 15-year-old Ledaig single malt joins the Benchmark collection from Murray McDavid. The peated whisky from Tobermory was distilled in 2009, and finished it maturation in a host of first-fill rum barrels from Guyana's long-lost Uitvlugt distillery, bringing layers of tropical fruit sweetness to the hearty smoke at its core.

Sweeter than I expected but balanced very nicely with long lingering fruity smoke at the end. Way too easy to drink at 53%, I’ll have to be careful.
