Blended Whisky 38 Year Old 1980 (Thompson Bros.)

A blended Scotch whisky from indie bottler Thompson Bros. - while we don't know where the whiskies came from, we do know that the blend was eventually drawn from a single sherry butt. At 38 years of age, it was bottled up at 44.9% ABV, with an outturn of 490 bottles.

This bottle was part of a private collection - if you'd like more detailed photos just get in touch!

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Big waves of sherry, with hints of chocolatey granola bar and old leather underneath the bold dried fruit notes.

Palate

A hefty helping of Christmas cake with brandy butter, plus an extra kick of ginger.

Finish

Lingering orange zest and mature oak.
