The Macallan
Released as part of Macallan’s ever-wonderful Sherry Oak range comes this 12 Year Old. It has spent its entire maturation in sherry-seasoned oak casks from Jerez, and is bottled at 40% ABV after its 12 years of ageing. It’s full of all those hallmark dried fruit and marmalade notes we’ve come to know and love from a sherried Macallan.

Absolutey beautiful smooth tasting whiskey.I am not sweet tooth but this has a touch of smooth sweet elegance on the palate.Fantastic price and great service thanks again.
I agree with many that the sweet flavor it has is a bit too dominant and makes it less complex. It could be better for the price. Still it is special from many others for sure, different. But little bit too sweet and too sherry. Nose is much better than taste which is not bad but far from excellent in this price range. One time investment. I hope it will get better when the bottle has more tine to breathe but I have no high expectations, let's see. I have had an excellent oaky Macallan earlier in random bar.
Fantastic Scotch, sipped immediately after pouring I found it to be a bit intense, but even then the flavours couldn't be ignored. Left to air for a few minutes this really becomes a fantastic drink. Warming but comforting, the sherry flavours soften the edges associated with whiskies and make this a very enjoyable tipple. Just a shame it's so expensive otherwise I'd drink this regularly. It'll be going on the Christmas list.
Nice drop of Malt. Great service. Many thanks Denis
A lovely dram. Perhaps a touch too sweet on my palate, but that’s quite subjective. Subversively smooth and delicious caramel notes.
