The first whisky from The Lakes Distillery, a British distillery in Cumbria that are as proud of their picturesque part of England as they are their excellently blended whisky. Both The ONE whisky and Cumbria are equally beautiful, but only one of them has sweet, spicy notes and a whiff of smoke, so we know which one we'll put in our glasses (it's the whisky, in case you were wondering).

Tasted the ONE for the first time on a holiday to Cumbria. I loved the smoothness and the light honeyed sweetness, but was shocked at the price.

I thought the flavours in this blend were very refined, ignore the negatives and try it yourself. It has a lovely honey note which finishes with fresh green notes, - a long peppery aftertaste and that hint of smoke that rounds it off really well - an impressive start

I was concerned it might be slightly overpriced, but this is a really good blended & a happy reminder to self that cask-strength single malt is not the only drink. Am relieved I liked it so much as I want this distillery to do well.

Average whisky , nothing special I am afraid you can enjoy better for the price . The sort of whisky I would nip in a cuppa on a cold night

Aptly named because that's all I'd score it out of 5. Ok, it wasnt unpleasant, and better than a supermarket blended. But not a whisky drinkers blend. and there are better premium blends at less cost.

I was expecting this to be something special priced at almost £30 a bottle.Well, I was left disappointed...Sweet and malty on the palate with a hint of citrus and then it is gone, no complex depth of flavor here and no finish to speak of.Tried a second glass with just a drop of water and I can say I won't be buying a second bottle. There really are much better blends out there and much better value for money.

a really nice easy drinking whisky. very smooth, yes it's a "blend" but its a lot better thought out than some single malts!

I have just come back from a few days in the Lake District and tastes One for the first time. Having tried my fair share on single malts and enjoying the taste but not the strength, this is the perfect combination of smooth flavour and no burn. Fantastic for people like myself who find the peatiness too strong.

I have just had the pleasure of trying my first dram of 'The One'. Quite simply the nicest and most enjoyable blended whisky that I have had the pleasure of tasting. Smooth, yet sharp and all this from a blended.I for one will be awaiting the release of their single malt in 2017.

Not bad, quite tasty, but no lasting taste and doesn't do much; all rather prosaic really, and ludicrously over-priced for what, at the end of the day, amounts to little more than a bog-standard blend

love this fantastic blended whisky

The best 'blended' whiskey I have tasted in over 30 years!
31st January 2015
Having been drinking whiskies daily for over 50 years and usually somewhat unmoved by new brands or blends. This was a present and I have to admit one of the best presents I have ever received - it is a sublime, mellow whisky a gorgeous blend with the slightest hint of peat, It is a delight and a treat - I have found a new blend and a delightful friend. Thank you and Congratulations to the Lakes Distillery.

A smoothe, earthy, honied taste followed by a slightly smokey after taste. There is a a very peppery aftertaste that lasts in the throat that is quite pleasant. A good bleed with more to follow from this distillery. Malts, Gins and Vodkas.

The One is a very nice drop of whisky. it retails at malt whisky prices, but it is as good as most malt whiskies. i bought a bottle and enjoyed it over 4 nights. it has a beautiful oily thickness, with light peat finish. i really enjoyed The One. i hope that buying from the distillery is cheaper than from other outlets, otherwise i feel the distillers will suffer badly.

Why go on so much about the one,, there is at least ten that I know of half the price and far better, only speaking the truth,

I have tasted some whisky's that cost much more that have been disappointing, The One is quite smooth with a light peat an citrus flavour a tiny amount of water helps the flavour. I purched 3 bottles when I visited the distillery.I look forward to receiving my first bottle of there malt.

Bought a bottle at the weekend and was so looking forward to sampling it. however my joy turned to despair on tasting. i first tried it neat then tried it with a little water. The One is very overpriced and overrated. At £30 per bottle i was expecting nectar, but only got cold-tea. I certainly won't be buying this distillers malt whiskey when it becomes available.

I ordered a bottle of The One having heard it was well worth a try. Very pleased I did. Speedy and careful delivery. Thought I'd keep it for Christmas, but it looked so good I tried it early. Very smooth, subtle peaty, smokey flavour. Goes great with water to let the complexity out without too much power. A delight to drink, well crafted blend bodes well for the Cumbrian whiskies to come. These boys know what they are doing. Strongly recommended.
