English Whisky Co. 7 Year Old 2008 (cask B1/491) - Single Cask (Master of Malt)
An excellent English single malt whisky from the English Whisky Company, bottled as part of our splendid Single Cask Series! It was matured in a bourbon cask for seven years, from August 2008 to February 2016, before we bottled it at cask strength (and with our neat glass closures!).
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Thick custard and apple crumble topped with crushed almonds. Poached pears, toasted bread and Christmas spices. Water brings out hints of pencil shavings and toffee muffins.
Palate
Hugely mouth-filling with ripe banana and molasses as it opens (almost rum-like), before moving on to dry spices, sugared nuts and cherry bakewells. Loads more apple notes with a drop of water.
Finish
Lingering malt and flaky pastry, with sweet hints of toffee pennies and double cream.
Overall
Intense though inviting, this English single malt whisky shows off masses of fruity goodness.
