The Deveron 12 Year Old Bottling Note
From Macduff distillery, this is a single malt you may know as Glen Deveron, but a new range of expressions and new packaging in September 2015 also saw a change of name to The Deveron. This is the 12 year old.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose: Sweet baking spice, toffee apples and ginger.
Palate: A core of butterscotch with waxy malt and apple pie.
Finish: Wood spice, vanilla and soft oakiness.
Overall: A new-look core expression for a single malt that's rightly getting more attention.

Agreed with another review here; something off
I agree with this review fully:
"Decent but something is off for me
Interesting comments here... I find with my bottle I'm getting quite a lot of spice and alcohol burn rather than fruit and sweetness oft mentioned here. I liken it to a liquorice taste, which is not really to my liking... however it could just be my tastebuds lately so I'll probably shelve this for a while and try some others in the meantime before I return. No final judgments yet for sure."
I found something off with it as well and too much burn/some sharp flavour there for my liking. Can't really justify going back to this, sorry to say.

It doesn't always have to be a challenge.
You know what - it's an uncomplicated, perfectly delicious dram for a nice malt moment. It's not an "integrity bottling" and it's not something to sit for hours picking over for tasting notes - it's a balanced, easy going whisky for a little dram without thinking. I really quite like it, and for under £35, with the way single malts are going, it's very good value for money.

Very light tasting, almost too light.
Very light tasting scotch. Some will like it’s subtle taste, as others may find it lacks character and some complexity.

Marketing to trick makes me suspicious !
Deveron is about as much highland as my little toe. Who do you think you are fooling ...glen Deveron indeed!

Tasty!!
I agree with other reviewers that this needs no water or ice, its very palatable. Vanilla, caramel, oak and spice. Drank this with a friend and the bottle seemed to disappear. I will definitely track more down. Not an overly complex malt but very moreish. Slainte.

Easier sipper (gulper) in my collection
Okay okay maybe Glenfiddich 12 is drinkable like water. But this one is simply delicious and reminds me of caramel apples, fresh from the orchard apples that is. It has a bit of vanilla and honey, but mostly apple taste. It is sweet but not sugary sweet like dark fruits, its is much more I guess I would say ginger, although there's another taste that I can't put my finger on. But this is the OPPOSITE of an Islay, however I still love it. Such a great pick up.
