Description

The Half-Century Blend harks back to the olden days, when whisky production methods were not particularly efficient but they resulted in brilliant whisky. To make this expression, The Blended Whisky Company exclusively uses malt and grain whiskies that have been matured for at least 50 years (hence the name). An outstanding blended Scotch whisky, boasting complexity and richness by the bucketful. Batch 4 is a release of 120 bottles.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Cooking apples, toasted almonds and thick slabs of toffee fudge blend with warm gingerbread, marmalade and a hint of marzipan. Oak char, cooking oil and chalk add to the complexity, alongside dried fruit, tea leaves, rosewater and eucalyptus oils.

Palate

Waxy, sweet and rich, the palate has Digestive biscuits, juicy malt and lemon peel at its core, with tropical fruit chunks, apricot yoghurt, salted caramel, milky coffee and winter spice in support.

Finish

Dried herbs add a medical quality to long and delicate finish which also has saddle leather, damp earth and exotic fruit.
