The first batch of 6 year old Williamson single malt from a famous though undisclosed Islay distillery, independently bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company! The Living Room Whisky chaps seem unconcerned with all the action happening around them, which includes Bessie and HAL hanging around in the sky...
Batch 1 is a release of 595 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Caramelised brown sugar and thick peat smoke with touches of red rope liquorice, nut roast, apple pie filling and Branston Pickle.
Peat furnaces and wood fires, barbecued burnt ends and more tasty green apple notes.
Smoked cheese, sea salt and apple slices.
Bessie would be proud.

This is so disgusting. We got this in the That Boutique-y Whiskey Company's advent calendar. There are Laphroiag's that are ok but, to be fair, our tastes run more towards Balvenie, Dalmore and Glenfarclas. The Master of Malt description of this one is fairly accurate. After we added a large dollop of water. I would add to the finish though a bit of a spoiled flavor. Like an extremely pungent blue cheese instead of smoked. Anyway if that sounds good to you, then go for it.
No. Freaking. Way is this whisky only 6yo. It's the biggest and richest Laphroaig I've ever tasted. It's like the old 15yo - that level of delicious intensity.
