Distilled on Islay, this single malt spent 13 years maturing, with a portion finished in oloroso sherry octaves by the team at That Boutique-y Whisky Company before they bottled it up. Followers of previous Boutique-y releases may recognise the familiar artwork on the label, and the true whisky Columbos out there might even see it as a clue as to the origin of this pungently peaty single malt.
Batch 7 is a release of 572 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Medicinal, first-aid box aromas join zesty lemon and dried garden herbs, with pungent, oily coastal notes, and a touch of pebbly minerality.
Palate
Salted lemons, candied oranges, and waves of salinity join those mineral notes from the nose. That medicinal peat brings helpings of herbaceous menthol and charred heather.
Finish
Vegetal smoke, dried herbs, and smoked heather linger.
