The first batch of Bourbon Whiskey #1 bottled by That Boutique-y Whisky Company has arrived, and it's an incredibly well aged 24 year old expression! The label shows a peaceful scene at Area 51, complete with a sign saying "Nothing to see here", which has to be true. It's on a sign. You can't lie on signs. Nope, nothing out of the ordinary to see - apart from maybe that bottle-shaped crop circle... And that Bigfoot... And that alien...

‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Rich, earthy vanilla pod and coffee bean notes arrive first, supported by vibrant notes of orange oil, brandy-soaked raisins and dark chocolate.

Palate: The vanilla notes continue on the palate, now with jammy red berries, maple syrup and freshly made pancakes.

Finish: A good kick of baking spices appear on the finish. Still enjoyably buttery.

Bourbon Whiskey #1 24 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company) Reviews

Amazing Bourbon

Bought while on offer, this is the best Bourbon I’ve tasted. Excellent

Good but not great.

This is a good bourbon but not great given its age and hyped high price. Doesn't stand up to most good 10 year bourbons as this carries a lot of acidy in its finsh. £100 maybe, £200 is steep for this.

Ok Bourbon but over hyped.

Thankfully I bought this when it was on offer but even at the lower price of £99 it is grossly overpriced. Don't get me wrong it is a perfectly good Bourbon but not of premium quality by any means. My usual day to day Makers Mark or Buffalo Trace are as enjoyable and my Favourite Woodford Double Oaked knocks this for six at a third of the price.

Bourbon Wowskey......!

I was lucky enough to win a Sazerac 18 2019 release sample from MoM. I was expecting to be blown away by that and in all honesty it was really great. This is better! On my third bottle. It's just brilliant.

Sublime!

Great big bold mouthful of chocolate and vanilla. Still tasting it long after the sip. Bit pricey so nice to get it on special offer once in a while.

Solid

Solid older aged bourbon without being oak bitter. Thick caramel and vanilla complimented with a sweet citrus. Very enjoyable!

Insanely good

Keep coming back to this again and again because it's just great liquid. While it's certainly not cheap, it is good value, and I always keep a stock of a few bottles for when it finally runs out of stock and I can't buy it anymore.

Unique, bold and flavoursome

Absolutely sublime. A thick and spicy mouthfeel with a very long finish.

A complex but balanced bourbon which, given its age, is well worth the RRP. Were the true source revealed this would command Parkers Heritage pricing. I am told these are from the pre-fire Heaven Hill stocks, aged 12 years in Kentucky and a further 12 years in Scotland.

Worth every penny.

I'm new to the world of bourbon, having tried a few of the familiar brands and one or two unusual examples. I'm on my third bottle of this in as many months and it's just soo good. I know it's not cheap but boy is it worth it!

It’s not JT Stagg senior. But it bloody good!

It’s a tiny bit sweet on the nose, very caramel lead which follows on to the palate. But don’t be fooled by this! It becomes so complexed in flavours it’s Like the first time.( of anything good) once you feel the heat of the alcohol the finish is calmer with balanced spices such as the classics.( although I did have it with a cinnamon and apple pie with it) so I may have been influenced in this last statement
