A brilliant blend has landed, courtesy of That Boutique-y Whisky Company. 26-year-old blended Scotch whisky to be precise, and it's a beast. With generous layers of dried fruits and spices, backed up by rich coffee and elegant smoke, this one is rather moreish indeed, with an impressively long-lasting finish.
Batch 2 is a release of 460 bottles.
That Boutique-y Whisky Company bottles limited edition whiskies from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Stewed plums, figs, and dates are joined by spiced toffee apples, fruitcake, cherry chocolate, and a whisper of bonfire smoke.
Palate
Silky layers of caramel join the chocolate notes from the nose, along with candied orange and honeyed prunes. Coffee and walnut cake develops in time, backed up by elegant wood smoke.
Finish
The flavours linger long after the last mouthful, with rounded layers of baked fruit, cakey spice, and smoked liquorice.
