Blended Malt #1 26 Year Old (That Boutique-y Whisky Company)
Here is the fourth batch of Blended Malt #1 from That Boutique-y Whisky Company! Another delicious spooned malt (it's almost entirely single malt from one distillery, but with just a drop of whisky from another distillery, meaning it can't be classified as a single malt), this time aged for 26 years before those Boutique-y folks got their mitts on it.
Batch 4 is a release of 322 bottles.
‘That Boutique-y Whisky Company’ bottles single malts, single grains and bourbons from a variety of renowned distilleries as well as producing award-winning blended malts and blends. These whiskies are adorned with cultish graphic novel-style labels.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Rich with honey and vanilla-y oak, the nose then builds with orange blossom, crunchy brown sugar and milk chocolate. Dried apricot builds underneath.
Palate
Darker fruit notes, blackberry and sultanas, emerge among fiery ginger root and allspice.
Finish
Toffee and grapefruit peel provide a pleasantly dry finish.
Overall
Flavour, depth and character. A top blended malt.
