Berry Bros. & Rudd created The Auld & the Bold series to push beyond whisky traditions and this Finnish single malt from Teerenpeli demonstrates how Nordic producers are increasingly carving out distinctive identities of their own.
Distilled in Finland using local barley and matured in a Pedro Ximénez hogshead, this whisky aged for 11 years before bottling at 56.8% ABV from cask #11082014A. A total of 233 bottles were produced.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Treacle, muscovado sugar, polished oak, and Christmas pudding.
Palate
Dates, dark chocolate, dried fruit syrup, and bittersweet cocoa.
Finish
Seasoned oak, sticky fruitcake spice, and lingering PX richness.
