This single malt from Teaninich distillery has had an unusual finish. Distilled in 2010, the 12-year-old Highland Scotch whisky matured in a hogshead before finishing for over four years in an ex-aquavit barrel, for subtle layers of herbs and spice. 229 bottles were drawn in 2023, at cask strength and without colouring or chill filtration, with the whisky joining the Lady of the Glen series from Hanna Whisky Merchants.
Layers of red fruit, with apple crumble, woody spices, and some thyme.
Cooked apple, blackberries, allspice, silky vanilla, and some star anise.
Peppery spices linger, with some juicy redcurrants.
