Tamdhu 53 Year Old 1960 (cask 1008) - Private Collection (Gordon & MacPhail) 70cl Whisky

A Gordon & MacPhail Private Collection bottling of 53 (!) year old Tamdhu single malt Scotch whisky. It was distilled all the way back in March 1960, when the distillery only had two stills. From those stills came whisky, which was placed inside refill Sherry butt #1008 and left to mature for quite a while (which, in turn, is quite an understatement). In July 2013, it was bottled by Gordon & MacPhail at 53 years old, with a small outturn of 36 bottles. It really is very rare to see a Tamdhu of this age - how exciting!
