Splendid single malt from Strathmill, distilled in 2008, the whisky was then popped into a bourbon barrel for a nice long rest. 13 years was the perfect amount, after which, the folks at Gordon & MacPhail tapped into the cask and released a total of 202 bottles at a cask strength of 57.3% ABV for the Connoisseurs Choice series!
Sweet wafts of maple and honey, syrupy with bold malt, and green, toasted woodchips.
Creamy butterscotch balances rich, spicy barley, a hint of aromatic cedar balances smooth vanilla, crisp pear, anise.
Lemon peel and just a hint of vegetal oak alongside sweet vanilla malt, biscuity sugar, and cakey spice.
