Here's a 12 year old single malt from the Strathmill Distillery, independently bottled by those Douglas Laing folks! This one was allowed to mature in a single refill hogshead for a dozen years before the cask was cracked open and the whisky was bottled up at 48.4% ABV. Just 336 bottles were produced.
Spiced fruit compote and thyme honey, with some hot cross bun warmth.
Molasses, cinnamon, honey again, butterscotch, white pepper, anise.
A hint of bittersweet coffee develops right on the finish.
