A stunning Strathisla single malt, independently bottled up for the Darkness range! This one was aged for 13 years, including a stint in a Moscatel sherry octave cask - significantly smaller than your run-of-the-mill type of cask, meaning there's a greater surface area to volume ratio, allowing for more interaction between the wood and the whisky. The result is an expression packed full of sherried deliciousness!
Oodles of fruit notes - apple, quince, raisin, cherry! Subtle whiffs of heather and oak sneak by.
Rich brown sugar and coffee notes, with fresh peach and stewed plum bringing some fruity lightness.
Black pepper, clove and cinnamon last.
