Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1953

A single malt from the Strathisla distillery, distilled in 1953 and released as part of a range of Gordon and MacPhail-bottled vintages from the distillery.
The nose is quite well smoked with some rubbery, feinty notes. The sultanas are evident with a chewy texture and mixed peels. Winter spices emerge with a little cigar box note and a touch of bitumen. The palate is quite full and rich with a certain cereal sweetness. The sultana notes and rich sherry dominates with a whirling smoke that traipses effortlessly through the substratum. The finish is quite smoky with a hint of something medicinal with fino notes.
