Single Malt
Scotland
1 Jan 1948
A rare 1948 vintage from the Keith based distillery, Strathisla, bottled for Gordon and MacPhail under their Rare Old Malt range.
The nose is of medium-body and very smooth. Cut hay and chewy sultanas abound with peels and marmalade, a little menthol note with a well-oaked backcloth. The palate is quite full with a rich texture. There are notes of sherried peels and sultanas and a touch of rubber. There is a lovely crème de cacao. The finish is quite long and chewy.
