Stauning Peat
A smoky variant from Denmark's Stauning, made with Danish peat! If you're into specifics, the peat was sourced from Klosterlund, and after it was distilled the whisky was aged in casks which previously held Maker's Mark bourbon. Heaps of floral heather, rich chocolate and, of course, smoke to be enjoyed here.
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Smoky heather florals, with lemon blossom, apple skin and touches of cocoa here and there.
Palate
A buttery mouthfeel leads into cantaloupe sweetness, with milk chocolate shrouded by notes of floral smoke.
Finish
Cut grass sweetness and singed hay linger.
