Starward Two-Fold Bottling Note

Starward has combined malted barley and wheat to create Two-Fold, a marvellous whisky from Melbourne which has been allowed to mature entirely in Australian red wine casks. A big, fruit-forward dram that suits sipping over ice on a warm evening or even used in cocktails.

Smooth
Very smooth, great on the palate with limited aftertaste, perfect straight, on ice or with a mixer.

Melbourne bliss
Introductory whiskey for beginners. Absolutely divine.

One of the lamest whiskeys I've had for the price.
A disappointing introduction to Australian whiskies. Nothing makes me want to come back to this bottle, I had about 2 glasses before deciding to order something else. It's not especially vile-tasting, but just so boring to drink.. can't think of any situation where this stuff would particularly shine. Still, the bottle looks half-decent and it may be a good party choice if it were closer to $35-$40AUD.

Should be magnificent, sadly isn't.
Good whisky, unfortunate finish.
I started with high hopes, but it was not to be. It starts with warm rich tones and finishes a strong fruity taste. While individually, either of those would be good, they didn't work together to compliment each other. Each sip is accompanied by a distinct jolt in flavour.
This seems to be in the unfortunate position that the sum of the parts is inferior to the parts themselves.

Best whiskey for the money!
I love my peaty, serious whiskies, and this whisky brought me to the sunny shores of something you dont have to worry over so much but enjoy equally.

A lovely everyday drink
Nice and fruity and a pleasure to drink. This should be in the drinks cabinet, along side the great and good Whiskies.

Easy drinking with enough depth to stay interested
I received this as a gift. I live nearby this distillery and still haven't been. I will be there tomorrow. It's fruity, with hints of toffee apples. It seems also dry on the finish. Maybe due to tanins from the wine casks it's aged in. Reminds me of some South island whiskey from new zealand. Ready good mellow drinking. Must keep a bottle around

Excellent, complex, sweet, a bit "forward" for my taste but 5 stars.
A present this Christmas from my brother who lives near Melbourne. Opened before the day (pre Xmas visit) and both Mum and I really appreciated the fruit and sweeter taste. My preference for Jura was tested, but this was very good. No ice for me, Mum had a lump or two, I might try it with the stones ( not the ginger wine...). In a Norlan. Then I'd have a good comparison. Mum just loved it.
