English - Original Reviews

Vanilla fudge meets chocolate orange. Superb

Lovely zesty tropical fruits on the nose, I got orange & pineapple, with creamy vanilla . Taste-creamy vanilla and chocolate orange, with hints of pineapple cube candy. I didn't get the nuts until the Finish-. Finish- creamy vanilla fudge, with salted peanuts and a little black pepper spice. As you can probably tell, I loved it.

Not sure it was down to low expectations but I really liked it.

Wasn't expecting too much but actually it is a very easy drinking dram.

Bought it on a whim in a shop in Sheringham but am very pleased with it. Assuming it's not too old but smooth nonetheless. Worth a try.

Buy can't wait to see what they do next

Just judged this for an awards blind with 30 other whiskys showed really well and a suprise when unveiled. Highly recommended at the price

Love it

As a scot we usually have between 25 to 30 malts in our collection all for drinking not keeping. A friend bought us the English and we love it . It does not matter where it is made or how good your company is at marketing.its about about people who care about their product no matter the country. Thanks for a lovely dram. Alan and Julie

Pass it

Terrible
I bought this in Marks & Spencer in Hong Kong.. it was over HK$500... over £50.
I was hoping that it would be good although no high expectations as there was no age. It was a total disappointment... there was only the taste of raw alcohol... possibly the worst single malt that I have tasted along with cheaper Japanese whisky.. This would be passable in a supermarket if priced at around £8 in UK.. I would give it a miss.. Let it age in better old oak casks for many more years.

Highly recommended

Never heard of this whiskey before. I was gifted a bottle from my Dad and it’s a beautiful whiskey, very smooth and delicious. I would highly recommend to any whiskey drinker.

I would purchase this again......

I was intrigued by the fact it was English and having read that it was bottled at a healthy 43%, was non chill filtered and of natural colour, I proceeded to purchase. I think I detected banana as well as the citrus and vanilla mentioned in the notes. There is little or no burn to speak of, the texture being smooth and on the dry side. I have only had it straight so far, so cannot comment on how water or ice would change or compliment it. My preference in whisky tends to be Islay and other peated brands, but having tried this, I would recommend it as an easy laid back drink. I would be happy to receive/give it as a gift.
