Nose Tarry smoke, earthy peat and damp leaves form a core that orange zest, dark honey and ginger in syrup emerge from. There are hints of spicy Jamaican ginger cake, green chilli heat and marzipan underneath with touches of woodsmoke, bitter bark and a little rancio.
Palate Crystallised citrus peels, jammy dark fruits and heather honey, then sweet tobacco, smoked fish and slightly meaty malt, then a little coal smoke and oily walnut. Oak spice and a hint of hickory and burnt brown sugar develop with time.
Finish Lightly smoked with some earthiness as well as mulberry jam and orange peel.
