Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Soft cedar warmth, followed by chocolatey malt, roasted lemon, caraway and mint.

Palate: Caramelised dates and pecans, damp oak, honey roast ham crisps and a hint of sugary shortbread.

Finish: Dry spices (think cinnamon and cardamom), alongside a few lingering touches of citrus.

Another well worth the money buy

This is a big strong malt and bodes well with agood few drops of water AND 20 MINS wait. I totally get where Meh is coming from as the 10yo is one of life's all time greats. This is however a Cask Strength Malt so you would expect it to be a bit more complex (and at double the price) It is really well balanced and I really like it. I like some of the tasting notes and get some of them but "Roatsed Lemon!" I've never tried that with a Lemon! Dont think I ever will.

Top Whisky

No two batches are the same but generally an excellent whisky. Mouthfeel perfect, great finish, just the right amount of smoke. There aren’t any bad Springbank whiskies, but this has a lot more body than the 10 year old and worth the extra money.

Meh

NOT stunning - the 10 y/o is better - yet everyone will tell you this is the best whisky ever (and nobody wants to appear ignorant or stand out by saying otherwise). The problem is the middle palate, which is hot and spirity, with bitter/ sour oak - not very nice at all - and kinda hard to get around.
