Springbank 12 Year Old 2003 - Port Pipe Matured Reviews

BS

Dark chocolate? no. Stewed berries? no. dried fruit? no. Earthy peat? Barely. This bottle was TERRIBLE and all of my friends thought so as well. Of course we are Yanks and we paid top dollar for it with shipping costs and taxes included. So what did this whisky remind me of? Cinnamon, old oak planks in a cabin, white pepper. And that's looking on the bright side. I will say that after it has dried in a glass (after it's been drunk) the smell left in the glass isn't half bad.

Way overrated

Whiskybase you let me down. I don't know what you guys were smoking when you rated this bottling. The single barrel port pipe is not worth the money I paid on thewhiskybarrel and a bit rancid as if the wood had turned rotten. Reminds me of a spoiled wine and dry old cork wood. I gave it an 86 rating. 72 bucks on here was a fair price.
