Pluscarden Valley 38 Year Old 1977 (cask WA021) - Whisky is Class...ical (Silver Seal)

From the Whisky is Class...ical range (bottled by Silver Seal) comes a 38 year old single malt from an undisclosed Speyside distillery, distilled in 1977 and bottled 2015 at 46.7% ABV. A mysterious expression, with a reference to The Barber of Seville by Gioachino Rossini on the label.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose

Grassy at first, though soon develops notes of iced buns, lemon cheesecake and stewed plums.

Palate

More stewed fruit notes on the palate - pear, apple and blackberries. A dusting of cinnamon and black pepper give it spice, leading towards mature oak and a hint of smoke.

Finish

Lingering nutty elements, though still thick with luxurious fruit.
