Mars Shinshu 2013 (bottled 2016) (cask 1664) - Number One Drinks Company 10th Anniversary
Single cask Japanese single malt from the little-known Shinshu distillery. It distilled in 2013 (a short while after Shinshu reopened following a period of inactivity) and matured in a bourbon barrel until it was bottled in 2016 in celebration of Number One Drinks Company's 10th Anniversary. Here's to many more years, chaps!
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Fresh and fruity, with notes of pear drops, candied pineapple and juicy barley. A touch of violet petal follows.
Palate
Red liquorice, green apple and white grapes. Still packed with robust malt notes.
Finish
Very slightly peppery.
