Royal Brackla 16 Year Old

The 16 year old release from the Royal Brackla single malt Scotch whisky range, and perhaps the pick of the bunch with an abundance of spicy Oloroso character. It's also beautifully presented, with a particularly large punt.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose Ripe red apple at first before thick crème brûlée takes charge with apricot, custard and a little Buttercup cough syrup.

Palate Spicy, caramelised apples and orchard fruit, vanilla and fresh black cherries.

Finish Rich cocoa and baking spices.

Overall Indulgent and regal chocolate spice character.

Reviews for Royal Brackla 16 Year Old
Yeah but no but.
I think you had the wrong bottle there, MoM. I think the professional designation is "subtle", but the word "bland" springs to mind as well. Expecting quite a bit more at this price point. 4 stars if it were 30 quid, one and a bit at >£70.

Will be included in my collection
Starts. Fruity with a nice sweetness. Has a long, long finish

Impressive - one step down from Glendronach 18
Absolutely top notch, very smooth, flavorsome, I taste butterscotch. Must-have whisky. Try this first and then try Glendronach 18 (flavor dynamite).

Already reaching the end of the bottle.
Fantastic. Smooth, rich yet not overpowering. Very sophisticated, mature and sure of itself. I'm impressed.

Well behaved......
Not bad for my first try of one the last great malts of Scotland range and it's very well rounded and very well behaved and there are no shocks from this at all. It does what it says on the tin or bottle rather but none the less I'd like to try the 21 Y/O next and then a really young one to compare them against.

It's a Highland not Speyside
tasty easy to drink neat. Tastes like a Speyside (not much peat).
