Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

Nose: Big spicy fruit and oak notes, vanilla, sultanas, pear, Sherried notes and some tropical cake.

Palate: Mouthfilling, oily, satisfying. Huge. Sweet stewed fruits, lively spice and a biscuity core.

Finish: More spice, creamy caramel, malt and fruit.

Best whiskey for me

Sweet on the nose despite high alcohol by volume, sweeter on the palette.Dark fruit, dried plum-fig, dried Grape and woody spicey but mellow.Long aftertaste. As expensive parfume .

Winner

Very good. First time I've tried Redbreast- decided to follow the glowing reviews, and glad I did.
Power plus smoothness plus body.
Honey, vanilla, honeysuckle and spring flowers, tiny touch of lemon cough drops.
Massive, yet drinkable at full tilt. Easier going with a splash of water, just as you'd expect.

One of my top 10 of all time.

This is simply, one of the best whiskeys out there. Green tart apples, oak, grain and honey swirls into a heady punch. A good dollop of water to temper the burn and open up the MANY flavors and layers in this magnificent dram.

Redbreast 12 cask strength heaven

Have been trying to decide which one I prefer between the 15 RB and this for a long time. The 15 is a quality whiskey, it has some rich dry fruity flavours and is very pleasant especially with a tiny drop of water. But the 12 Cask strength with a decent drop of water opens up completely and has a wonderful finish. All the Redbreast nuances are revealed here. Spend your money on this one. No regrets.

An incredible whiskey... just make sure it IS cask strenght

I remember trying this for the first time. I am Irish I like the Irish whiskey but usually drink scotch (Talisker, Lagavulin). This is the first Irish whiskey that really blew my mind. There are two type normal and cask strength. Normal is ok but the cask strength is incredible.

Wow!

Fantastic! Just add some water and let it rest for a minute or two and you have an absolutely stunning whisky!

5 star

Quality stuff. Little water to calm it down and open it up, but neat is still fairly smooth for abv.
