Rebel Yell Kentucky Straight Bourbon Reviews

Inexpensive good bourbon.

I like the smell of this bourbon. Pretty smooth to drink neat. I mixed with Diet Pepsi and it is very good.

Not bad.

Very smooth. Smell nice and has a light flavor that makes good for sipping straight out of a shot glass. Mixes well with cola, and I would highly recommend.

I initially left this comment on the French Oak version of Rebel Yell and have only just realised my mistake, it is in fact this Rebel Yell which in fact is all coconut on both nose and palate, the barman did put in a couple more rocks than I would have at home so not sure if that completely changed the profile seeing as I've not seen one other coconut review and this was very pronounced, a non whisky drinker even picked it up (more nose than palate but he could see where I was coming from although the initial whisky taste i'm sure took over for him.) Easy drinking and uncomplicated.

Love it!!!!

One of the best bourbons for everydsy. The flavor and nose are wonderful, neat or mixed. I prefer either neat/w ice, or with ginger ale.
Truly a great bourbon.

May the REBEL YELL be heard and tasted.

REBEL YELL says it all. To me there is not a better bourbon and I have tried many in my 70 years.

It'll make a turd

I thought I saw this on one of those ubiquitous "budget bourbon" lists but after tasting it I think I might have confused it with the Rebel Yell 100. Regardless of my potentially poor note taking skills, I'm finding this one somewhat undrinkable. Not completely, just somewhat. There's a lot of weird after tastes I'm not enjoying, especially when Evan Williams Bottled in Bond and Four Roses are effectively the same price.

I'm reminded of a story someone told me from their time on a submarine. The chief is walking by with an empty tray, leaving the galley and someone in line says, hey chief, how was the chow? He considered for a moment and said...meh, it'll make a turd. I cannot think of a better way to describe this. It's 80 proof sandpaper in a bottle and it gets the job done.

No. Just don't.

It is a mix of sweet with musty shoes. Horrible for anyone who enjoys good bourbon. I bought it at the very beginning of the Covid-19 lock down in case I needed an item to trade and ended up trying it. I regret that decision.

Very smooth with no rough edges.

My basement bar is stocked with many top shelf bourbons , but my go to bourbon of choice has been Rebel Yell for the past 40 years. I just like the taste of a good wheated bourbon. And Rebel Yell fills that Bill.

Very Smooth

Very smooth with honey and vanilla notes. A little shocked by the lack of the bourbon bite/spice. Though, for me, personally, I enjoyed! I just wonder what the experienced bourbon drinkers think....

23rd December 2019

So Smooth!

In a blind taste test, drinkers would think Rebel Yell is a brand that's 3 times the price. This whiskey is smooth neat.

Great tasting bourbon

Love it , used to drink Woodford and found this to be every bit as good and half the price . I’m not bashing Woodford , it too is awesome but it is a little pricy .. I’ll still buy the Woodford reserve small batch occasionally but most for the time it Rebel Yell , it doesn’t disappoint

Very smooth alone. Perfect flavor in a mix.

I came upon Rebel Yell Bourbon a few years ago. It quickly became my favorite. I drink it 'neat' or mixed with my home pressed apple cider. Neat, it goes down smooth with no 'burn' or 'heat'. Very enjoyable. Mixed with my choice of individual ciders... Awesome!

New found daily shot -- really enjoyable

Buffalo Trace is my drink but due to the ineptness of the Ohio Liquor Board it is rare in Ohio so I have to drive 45 miles to Indiana to get all I want. While there I also purchased Rebel Yell due to it's wheat mash bill. I must say I was very pleased, will be my daily shot and save the BT for special occasions. Also I am glad it is "bottom shelf?" as it saves me money.

THE "Boy's Night Out" Bourbon

For comparison tasters - I particularly enjoy Bushmill's Irish Whiskey, Hennessy's Very Special Cognac, and George Dickel's Barrel Select Tennessee Whiskey - as you can see, I like the good stuff as a rule . Why do I enjoy Rebel Yell ? It lives up to it's name in a way that is hard to describe, but I'll try - Wild Turkey has class, Old Grandad has a "homey" charm, Old Charter has a certain working-man's "warmth" on chilly evenings - but Rebel Yell is a "Stag Party" in a bottle. I'm really looking forward to trying the 10 Year Old Single Barrel - it's THE VERY THING I would have wanted from this distillery - having said that, I miss the signature blend - it's nearly impossible to be found in Los Angeles - a REAL shame in a town that professes to "party all the time" -

Not just best value, the best

I have tried most bourbons on the market, nearly every Jack Daniels produced and this has remained my favourite. Just wish they hadnt changed the bottle.

21st March 2019

very enjoyable for the price point

very nice change from jack and jim classic as any jack and jim like whiskey

15th March 2019

Fantastic in so many ways.

The best flavor and finish, not to mention the fantastic value for the money. I'm personally responsible for bringing it to Michigan after many requests to various liquor stores. Now it's everywhere!!!!!!

The bourbon for whiskey drinkers

More of a whiskey drinker myself and Jameson is my preferred drink but Rebel Yell is amazing !
You can call it a true 'American whiskey' as it is a bourbon blend and that true to life wild wild west flavor of arsenic and hydrogen peroxide is just
Had a hard time with figuring out the after's raisins !
Got a bottle at a discounted price and just plain fell in love with it...can't really explain why but i crave this stuff like a Big Mac.
This stuff is considered a below the bottom shelf whiskey and i think that seriously under rates it...much better than anything bar rail like windsor or seagrams but be careful as over indulgence in this one will come back to haunt you the next morning.
rebel yell is simply the best BOURBON whiskey i have found for the guy that only likes straight whiskey....try it and you will fall in love with it as well.

W. L. Weller was my drink of choice for years until they priced themselves out of my range. After discovering Rebel Yell there was no turning back. I serve it over crushed ice to all of my friends and many of them have switched. I introduced it to a friend from Eastern Europe and he purchased a case to take back with him.

Bottom shelf price and upper shelf taste.

One of the best

This is one of the smoothest tastiest bourbons I’ve ever tasted. Good to see it’s getting a decent distribution in the UK.

Another nice advent calendar surprise. Sweet - goes down a bit too easily. Like a Blantons for half the price.
