Description
An independently bottled Port Ellen, distilled in 1982 and bottled 2016 by German bottler Malts of Scotland. It was distilled in 1982, the year before the distillery was closed, and bottled in 2016. It was drawn from a single Sherry hogshead, with 225 bottles produced. Very rare indeed...
Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt
Nose
Lemon and orange peels, sooty smoke and a little bit of raisin.
Palate
Honey, peat, oily walnut, dried fruit and some salinity.
Finish
Spiced and long, though a balancing sweetness persists.
