Description

Another fab Islay single malt from the Port Askaig range - this time aged for an impressive 28 years in refill American hogshead casks. As ever with Port Askaig bottling, we don't know which distillery on Islay was responsible for this whisky, but it is most marvellous indeed. Marvellous and mysterious...

Nose

Tarry ropes, smoked almonds and buttered crumpets.

Palate

Salinity dominates the palate, with mature oak and smoke in equal measure. Develops a floral hint of heather later on, alongside some dried apple sweetness.

Finish

Spicy cedar, sea salt, lemon peel and peach.
