Pittyvaich 35 Year Old 1990 - Whiskyland Chapter Thirty (Decadent Drinks)

Decadent Drinks presents a single first-fill sherry hogshead from 1990, bottled at cask strength after 35 years and released as part of Whiskyland Chapter Thirty. Pittyvaich is hardly common these days, and this one leans gloriously old school. The lower strength of 44.3% ABV gives it poise and drinkability without sacrificing depth. Just 145 bottles exist.

Tasting Note by The Chaps at Master of Malt

    Nose

Earthy tobacco, sultanas, figs and prunes with cedarwood and echoes of very old Armagnac.

    Palate

Jammy dark fruits, crystallised honey, soft pipe tobacco and polished oak.

    Finish

Gently drying with herbal bitters, lingering dark fruit and mature oak spice.
